Have you ever seen a tree?
Seen the soft filtered sunlight and heard the mellow hum of honey bees
In a palms graceful swaying leaves, like mother’s arms when you’re underneath?
Have you seen the grand majesty of a father pine keeping watch, tall and brave?
Smelled his fresh green verdant aftershave as you brush by on your way?
Have you heard the hushed gossip of a poplar grove?
Huddled close together,
Nervous in the weather?
What would they say?
The world is so fast
and has no time for a tree
